# Server requirements

> What the server needs before you install Laravelify.

Laravelify manages the server it is installed on. Use a **fresh** server dedicated to it: the installer configures nginx, PHP-FPM, MySQL, Redis, Supervisor, and the firewall.

## Operating system

| Ubuntu | Status |
| - | - |
| 24.04 LTS | Recommended |
| 22.04 LTS | Supported |
| 26.04 LTS | Supported (PHP from the Sury repository) |

Other distributions are not supported. The installer uses `apt`, systemd, and `ufw`.

## Hardware

| | Minimum | Recommended |
| - | - | - |
| CPU | 2 vCPU | 4 vCPU |
| Memory | 2 GB | 4 GB or more |
| Disk | 30 GB SSD | 60 GB SSD or more |

Each Laravel site adds its PHP workers and queue processes; each Next.js site adds one Node process. Next.js builds are the heaviest moment: give the server at least 2 GB of free memory for `npm run build`, or add swap.

## Network

* Root or `sudo` access over SSH.
* Outbound internet (GitHub, package mirrors, Cloudflare, Telegram).
* A domain on **Cloudflare** with a **tunnel**. Laravelify serves sites through Cloudflare tunnels, so no inbound port has to be open for the web. The firewall still allows SSH, 80, and 443.

<Warning>
  Do not install Laravelify on a server that already hosts sites with its own nginx or PHP setup. The installer replaces their configuration.
</Warning>

## What you need from Cloudflare

1. Add the domain to Cloudflare.
2. Zero Trust → **Networks → Tunnels → Create a tunnel** (type *Cloudflared*). Copy the token from the install command Cloudflare shows (the long string after `--token`).
3. You add public hostnames for the panel and phpMyAdmin after installing. See [Quickstart](/quickstart).
