# Updating

> Update the panel to the latest release with one command.

```bash theme={null}
sudo bash /opt/laravelify/scripts/update.sh
```

The update script:

1. Downloads the latest release from GitHub (the version change is printed, like `1.0.0 -> 1.1.0`).
2. Copies it over `/opt/laravelify`, keeping your `.env`, database, `storage/`, and `vendor/`.
3. Runs `composer install`, clears caches, and runs database migrations.
4. Restarts the queue worker and the scheduler so they load the new code.

Your websites keep running during the update; only the panel restarts its own workers.

## Updating with the install command

Running the install command on a server that already has Laravelify does the same update, and nothing else. It asks `Update Laravelify only? [Y/n]` and leaves the installed packages alone.

## Update to a specific version

```bash theme={null}
sudo LARAVELIFY_VERSION=1.2.0 bash /opt/laravelify/scripts/update.sh
```

This also works for going back to an older release. Migrations that already ran are not undone.

## Release notes

Every release is on the [GitHub releases page](https://github.com/laravelify-cloud/laravelify/releases) with its changes. The panel shows its version next to **GitHub** in the sidebar.

<Tip>
  If an update fails halfway, run it again. Each step is safe to repeat.
